A good worker is a happy worker.A good worker is a happy worker.A good worker is a happy worker.

One of the million booksellers that you'll find in Cambodia..
Never a dull moment!

Here's a few of the highpoints and low points of Cambodia

* Kids wearing those squeaky shoes..I know we have them back in Oz but every kid seems to be wearing them here..Drives you crazy!!

* You can get a tasty 2 course meal for a dollar.

* Crazy- a very offensive word to call any Cambodian.

*To Marry a Cambodian women the dowry (or whatever the word is) ranges from $2000-$10000 depending on your barting skills.

*Ordering a steak 8 times out of 10 will lead to disappointment and time on the toilet the next day..

* Children selling souvenirs around the temples know more about your country than you do..

*Going to "kill" your opponent on the sporting field has a whole new meaning here.

*A motobike without the key, can be stolen in under 20 seconds.

*Beggers in the main tourist area's can earn up to $100 a week. 4 times the wage of average Cambodians although alot of the money is going into some fat persons pocket.

* Cambodian women love "big" people because obvisously they've got the money.

*Taxi drivers/ Moto's will always nod their head and say "I know where to go" but really have no idea of where the place is!

*Beware of the Seat Police on public buses...The bus could be empty but it's his job to make sure your sitting in your allocated seat!

* While on buses...one should always take ear plugs.. Khmer Karaoke WILL be played at ear drum blowing levels..

* Is there anything better than a sensual 2 hr massage??? I don't think so...Bliss!!
On the flipside, Is there anything worse than worse than a 2hr massage from hell!!! This lady was a witch...I'm sure she'd must have caught her husband cheating the night before at the local karaoke bar, and was hell bent on extracting revenge on all the male species that day...Crikey!!! Do your homework......

* I went to a local restaurant the other day an ordered a beer, at $1.50 and thought that's pretty expensive by Cambodian standards...She came back with a jug of ice cold beer!!!! You beauty....My new local!!!!

*I've brushed on this before but it's worth mentioning again that they have to play all music at distortion levels and
Decisions, decisions????Decisions, decisions????Decisions, decisions????

Bug, roach, cricket, grasshopper or spider hmmmmmmm? It all looks good.
if your hotel is unfortunate enough to be staying close to a wedding ceremony you'll have 2 full days of blaring music from early in the morning until late at night!! It can make a hangover twice as bad...

* Afternoon naps 1pm to 3pm are the norm and highly advisable (missing the heat of the day!)

*Everything is rounded off to the dollar.

*Krama's (Cambodian traditional scarf) are not only handy for avoiding sunburn, fumes and dust but for wiping food off chin, blowing nose, wiping sweat off brow and for cleaning any beer spillages.

*If Khmer people don't like what your saying, they'll pretend that you never said it!

*Seeing kids flying kites from the balcony of a 10 storey city apartment.. This made me very happy to be brought up on a farm..

*Picking your nose is public is acceptable behavior. (a condition of employment by shopkeepers i think!)

Thought are the day.......

Money or happiness: which is more important?
Sucess or failure: which is more destructive?
