Hey Here
I must have been eating lots of spinach to lift this 400lb fish! Hey All,
How's it all going back at home? Hope you are all keeping well. I'd really like to hear what's been happening with you guys so feel free to drop me an email filling me in with all the latest goss!!! Believe it or not, I do still wander about you lot sometimes!! LOL :o)
OK, well as you can see from my pictures I've been having a great time at the Sealife Park with my new Dolphin friends! I done 2 activities whilst I was there which were both really amazing...I swam with the Dolphins and they carried me across the water whilst I held their fins... I was amazed at how powerful these creatures are. The second thing I done was called a 'foot push' where you lie front down in the pool and the trainer sends them to come and get you so they swim up behind you and put their noses on your feet and you glide you across the water at what felt like the speed of light! they lift you out of the water as they build up speed, but as I was coming up....my bikini bottoms were going DOWN so I had
Kiss Time!
Ahhhhh...I wanted to bring him home! He was adorable :o) to break the push before half a dozen people in the group seen more than they bargained for!! ha. I was giggling because as I was unsure of how much they actually did see, but when I watched the DVD of the whole thing afterwards all you can see is the Dolphin push, me laughing hysterically, and then turning towards everyone saying "I LOST MY PANTS!!"... and then more hysterical laughter!! ha.
The Dolphins were truly amazing and so well behaved. The trainers had them sing to us, dance with us, and they even opened their mouths so we could feel their teeth! Ahhhh bless... I want one! We stood in a line in the pool and the trainers sent them to us and they glided through the water on their backs so that we could give them belly rubs. And lets not forget kiss time (as you can see from the photos).... they are just so cool.
Prior to that I done a stint in the bottom of a 300,000 sq metre fish gallery with an oxygen helmet! You'll see from the photo's I was well kitted out in my wet suit etc, ready for battle with giant turtles
Yeeeee Haaaaaaa!
They have so much strength pulling you across the water. and stingrays and an array of giant fish! I'm sure the woman gave me a wet suit 2 sizes 2 small though coz that had more chance of killing me down there, rather than lack of oxygen :o) The things I do for you guys back home to get decent photos on this blog! Anyway, I digress..... It was really amazing down in the depths of the water. It was there I met a couple called Doug and Shauna from Ohio, USA. Shauna was dong the 'trip down under' with me. We had such a good time petting the turtles as they swam by. The 'professional' people with us had food for the fish and turtles so there was a constant sea of turtles and rays around us. I thought the turtles would be horrible to touch... but the skin around their necks and face is so lovely and soft. The rays were really lovely and smooth too.
Anyway the time went really quickly and before I knew it I was waving goodbye to Doug and Shauna and heading back to the Waikiki Beach area which was around a 15-20 minute drive away. I got back, showered and walked down
And away we Go......
This was just before the 'Losing my Pants' moment! the road to go for a nice meal and who should I bump into... non other than Doug and Shauna standing outside the same restaurant as me! Talk about fate having freaky ways! Anway I joined them for dinner and we had a great evening at The Cheesecake Factory feasting on the beautiful food and listeneing to the nice music playing... a real nice atmosphere.
Yesterday I hiked to the summit of Diamond Head Volcanoe Crater! Yes.... I know you can't seem to grasp that... I.... Miss Marie 'Dont do walking' Connolly, hiked for 1.5 miles on rough terrain up a mountain! Well you'd better start believing it coz I've even got the certificate when I got to the top! Did I tell you that towards the top there are 99 steps to climb (that's after you've nearly passed out getting to them!) I'd better not joke too much about passing out because after I'd got to the top and took all my lovely photo's, I heard a lot of commotion in the tunnels and a woman (looked to be in her 50's), had fainted and fallen on the concrete face first. Looked like she'd broke her nose from what
Right... I'm Poised and Ready for Action!!
Even if my wet suit was about 2 sizes 2 small! ha. I seen. Someone had already called 911 and they were waiting for paramedics/fire to come and get her. The poor paramedics.... this woman was nearly at the top of the mountain and as I was on my way down the Fire guys were on their way up. Then all I seen was a helicopter flying and landing as close to the top of the mountain as possible and they got her on board up there and whisked her away. Jeez if I'd known I'd have got a free helicopter ride with firemen I'd have faked a fall :o) LOL. (Sorry, I know it's very wrong... !!)
Apart from all of the above I've just been chilling out down at the beach 'catching tan'. It's been really nice just taking it easy... so nice that yesterday afternoon I fell asleep as the tide was coming in and I awoke to people saying things like "Oooooo" and 'Wohhh' and I soon realised that it was because a wave was at that point burrying me alive underneath it! Yep that's right... me, my beach mat, my towel, my dress that I'd been wearing, and also my racksuch that had in it my IPOD
Turtle Love!
You might be a turtle... but you can still gimme some love! and camera.... all got buried underneath the wave in full view of everyone!!
Let me tell you it was hard to recover from this scenario with any dignity at all! I jumped up after I managed to catch my breadth, and stood there looking like the 'Sand Man'. My whole body was caked in sand (including my face) and I felt like asking my standing audience why, instead of saying "Oooohh, Ooooo, and Wohhh", why they hadn't said "Move your fat ass out of the way because you're about to get buried alive by a wave!" :o)
Anyway, as I stood there I realised that sand wasn't just on my body..... Two words....'Bucket and Spade' spring to mind. Let me just expand on this slightly for you... My body was the spade, and my bikini bottoms was the bucket and within the bucket I had enough sand to start a new beach in my moms garden!
I walked with my head held high into the water to try and 'empty the bucket' but it was having none of it as the waves were quite harsh at that point. So.... I put on my soaking wet dress and walked back to
the Hostel like John Wayne. The thought of a shower had never seemed so appealing in all my life, however, I walked into the dorm room to find a bunch of 5 girls who had all just arrived together from Brazil! I looked like a drowned rat (a rat that walked funny). Anyway the reality of a shower diminished before my very eyes as I had to wait for all 5 of them to shower before me whilst I stood in my bucket (well I couldn't sit now could I!). I couldn't lie on my bed either so I'm just standing there, unmoving like the statue of liberty for a full 45 minutes until I get into the bathroom!!
Anyway...nough of my bathroom habbits.... and time to say goodbye again until my next blog update.
Take Care of yourselves and Speak to you all soon.
Marie xx
