After sifting through the millions of available dive charters, we found a company who did a day trip to the outer Barrier Reef which was currently on special! Once aboard the stylish catermaran (sp?) we shot off the coast from Port Douglas to the Agincourt reefs.

It took one hour of being thrust up, down, side to side before we arrived for our first dive. The boat anchored and our group jumped off the side of the boat and commenced our dive. The bommie of coral was grey and dull toned- I immediately began to appreciate the good fortune of having seen the most spectacular sites in Fiji!

Our second dive site was far more impressive than the first with some shallow swim throughs and much more colourful coral and fish. Even snorkeling from the back of the boat would reward us with some fantastic views of some of the fish you miss when you dive!

As we made our way back, the low tide and shining sun set off the contrast between the reef and deep blue Pacific ocean and looked truly spectacular!
