Well it didn’t take long, but I have now been attacked by mosquitoes…why do they always seem to get you in the most annoying places!!! I have one just where my watch sits and one on my knicker line, I mean how the hell did they manage that. I’m pretty sure they are not in my room and attacked me when I was sat outside last night. Anyway I’ve been sensible tonight and put my repellent on, so fingers crossed I shouldn’t have anymore tomorrow.

Went to the Grand Palace today, although I have to confess my pictures are a little poor, the sun was so bright and my battery was running low!! Another amazing place though, huge and fascinating. I love the way whenever you go into buildings you have to take your shoes off and you’re not allowed to face your feet to the Buddha, it’s bad luck. Although had to keep dashing for the shade it was that hot. I must have drunk near on 3 litres of water today and sweated out 2 of them. I then went to see the Giant Buddha which is around 35m high, its huge. Tuk Tuk driver took a

Phra Siratana Chedi. One of the main monuments on the upper terrace
picture of me stood in front of it and well you can’t see me because the Buddha is that big. The Tuk tuk then decided he had to take me to see the “lucky Buddha”, so off I went. He promised it would bring me luck, so I’m reckoning a fiver on the lottery at the weekend!!!

I have a confession to make too, I ate pizza for tea tonight!! I know sacrilege when there is all this gorgeous food. The problem is when you eat it for lunch and dinner you just fancy something a bit plain…..so pizza it was. And plus like I said last night the best food is the street food and I don’t understand them and they don’t understand me so I keep getting food on a par with Vindaloo! Then I had a few cheeky beers in the bar/restaurant next door, where the owner, Italian, told me how he liked blonde women….words “skin” and “crawl” spring to mind, anyway he gave me a free beer, so all is well.

Well this is really my last day in Bangkok today. I get picked up for the Islands tomorrow, although not until 4.30, so

I’m fancying a massage in the morning! Although after my 12 hour bus journey and then boat trip to Koh Samui, I’m reckoning I might need one at the other end! At least there is little chance of my luggage going astray this time as my transport from Bangkok all the way to Singapore consists of Buses & Boats.

5 nights in Koh Samui, then another long bus journey to Krabi & Koh Phi Phi. Really looking forward to relaxing on the beaches for the next week or so. I’m going to do some serious sunbathing, watersports, snorkelling and if I’m feeling brave a bit of diving (Rick at work….I won’t rub it in how amazing it is if I do decide I’ve got the balls to do it..ha ha). So guess I won’t have much to tell over next few days other than sun, sand and more sun, but if anything exciting happens I’ll be sure to update you!

Ciao for now.x

Tuk Tuk driver swore blind this particular Buddha would bring me look. Personally I think it's more to do with the fact that if they take you there they get fuel coupons!!
