…that’s the affectionate name me and Nat gave our first quokka we sighted on Rottnest!! Their tails are rat like I can understand how the explorers thought they were rats and not quokkas!! Quite cute though, very friendly.

Anyway, hello, one more day left in Perth!! Yep we are finally leaving, feels like we are leaving home again! We’ve had a brilliant time here and Ian and Jean (nats auntie and uncle we’ve been staying with) have spoilt us with all the amazing things we’ve seen, we wouldn’t have had the chance to see half of those places if it wasn’t for them, Thankyou, if you reading this .
Well we finished work on Wednesday and as soon as we stepped out the hotel it didn’t feel like we’d been working at all! Unemployment feels quite nice just now. After finishing work we went and spent most of our money we had just earnt, on a trip from Darwin to Alice Springs (to do after our Perth to Darwin one), we have also booked up to go down to Adelaide, Melbourne and then up to Cairns, but I’ll give you those detailes another time so as not to confuse you all.

Rottnest island was nice, we got a ferry from Perth over there, took about 1hr and a half and we went past all the posh houses on the swan river! Some really nice ones, even nicer than the ones we liked in Mandurah! We saw the famous quokkas, they only live on that island and no where else! We didn’t think we would spot any at first but then spotted about 4 all in one go . We went right round the island stopping off at different bays, bit cold for snorkelling but im sure we’ll get the use out of the ones we have bought some day!! Still manged to get sunburnt though! I’ve been so good too, but nevermind it will fade!!
We had a lovely day and I fell asleep on the ferry on the way home, just cant take the pace!

So its Friday the 20th April…and on Saturday we are off on our next adventure..18 days Perth to Darwin, camping in sheep stations and under the stars in swag bags!! (sleeping bags) you can see the trip we are doing at

So thats all for now, that’s my last blog from Perth, it’s a nice little city with Kings Park definalty being my favourite bit.… so its off on our next adventure!! Cant wait!!!
So til my next blog…bye for now!!! X x x x x

Hello, i'm so glad you're writing blogs again as i've missed reading them. Although your time in Perth has been timed well with Andy's time in hospital when i haven't had chance to get online. Glad you are both having fun still. Bet your trip will be fantastic. Although will you find out why monkey mia is called that when there are no monkeys there?! Just a thought thats all. Lol. Lifes getting better (ish) here. Hoping Andy will be coming home in the next few days but for how long is anyones guess! Thought i had him home for good last time and then he was readmitted and is still there!!!! Other news is that my aunty julie died 2 days ago. Glad she's at peace now and no longer suffering. Won't say anymore cos don't wanna spoil the mood! Haha. Speak soon, love Emma xxx
