Attempting to work on Apple Mac on third floor of hostel

Apologies for my last entry - we were having a hellish time with the internet in the last hostel. Cost $1 for 10 minutes - but these were no ordinary 10 minutes. I think time went double. And we were trying to sort out Washington at the same time, so there was no proper time to write in blogs. Tonight won't be much better, cos I'm writing on an Apple Mac which I can never seem to get right and I have had mucho free German beer. We were so lucky with that! The bar opposite h ad some issue about losing the lease and the owner of the hostel signed a petition to save them so they had a free-for-all thing. I really like free beer! We then walked Caroline into Broadway - which was good cos we probably won't see it at night again for a while.

Yesterday we arrved at this hostel and appreciated it straight away. Really arty and original decor and the owner, Anne is really friendly and helpful. We met Caroline, a longtime resident here from Manchester nd knew that we'd be fine! Ended up atching random Penn and teller satire last night, and some Heather Mills on Dancing with the Stars. Aide from her they seem to have actual celebrities on their edition! I was surprised. Don't ask me who left last night though, I have no idea.

There's a lovely dog here called Munch. Avtually, he's not lovely as I believe he can bite but he has bee so far and I'm resisting stroking him. He has ace big ears! Will try and post a pic at some pont (we can't work out how to do it on this computer).

We went to the Museum of Modern Art yesterday - was really good. Then the Rockerfella centre which I didn't really get (just underground and dark and posh) and then had cheap pizza for tea.

Today we walked over the Brooklyn Bridge and saw Ground Zero. It's amazing seeing both in different ways - as above, pics to come,

Btw - I am jealous of your sunshine, but I'm hoping Florida will bring us that! I can take gales for now.

We do have lovely sunshine here! haha! But still jealous. I love NYC - had the best time there last summer, so am incredibly jealous. Want to come out and join you! Have a safe journey to Washington. It'll be a massive contrast to New York. Oooh, and all the touristy things - museums and stuff - are free! Thinking of you both! xxxxx
