Mike and Mitzio Sharpe
So, a bit more of what we´ve been up to in the last 2 months:

13th March to Hong Kong, to get pampered by Mish and get an outfit for Mike and Mitzio's wedding, then to Japan, to go to the wedding - I cannot tell you how great a feeling it was to put on new clothes for a change - and then back to Hong Kong for the sevens (where I also managed a new outfit) and to spend some more time with Mish and Andy (and generally abuse their white goods and hospitality).

The wedding defintely a cultural experience although even this a mix of Japan meets England with a translator all the way through. The outfits are something else, so so ornate, with everything perfectly positioned in a kind of ´hanging off´sort of way, though really heavy and very uncomfortable shoes apperently. The second outfit more of what we see at home.

After the wedding we ventured into Tokyo for a few nights - a crazy city - madly busy streets filled with some serious fashion victims (most with a serious penchant for over the knee socks and heels), signs just about everywhere
Practice for our new careers
promoting just about everything as far as the eye could see upwards and lots of sushi - which of course we indulged in - Simon even had me eating eel and raw whitebait, which I hastily dumped into a napkin after feeling the texture - rather similar to my mushroom phobia.

We then travelled back to HK for the Rubgy Sevens - basically just a huge piss up with a lot of embarassing 'Brits Abroad' style behaviour, further adding to the reputation we already seem to have with our fellow travellers - and frankly I am not suprised. Other than oggle at the outrageous behaviour happening in the infamous south stand, we obviously joined in, drinking, dressing up and generally having fun, watching a bit of the rugby along the way. Three days of eating pies, mixed with pimms, heineken and sea breezes was definitely enough though. I am not going to mention my drunkeness on the Saturday as I am sure Mish will write something to the contrary and she also will tell a far better story as I can´t actually remember much. All I can say is that the last time I was like that was when
He made me...
I was 14!!!

So, the rest of our time in HK was really a bit of a recovery programme, we did venture around and admire the usual tourist spots; rode the Star Ferry at sunset, ventured out to the Bohemiam and very quiet Lama, walked up and down the escalators to Mish and Andy´s apartment a lot - yes escalators actually on the streets changing from up to down depending on the time of day to to save us pedestrians of some fit and healthy hill walking.. exactly, why would you take the steps?

We would like to thanks Mish and Andy again for putting up with us and allowing us to just settle in at theirs as if it was home. It was perfect, great to see them and experience a bit of their Hong Kong life - Andy seems to be a bit of a cook too these days, now that was a surprise.

And then off to Oz...5th April

Hong Kong Spewey!
Glad to finally see the HK blog entry! Walking up and down the escalators? Wasn’t it more like dangling from the handrail then coming down on ones *r*e?? Hope the head lump finally went down Em! Was lovely to see Emma and Simon and hear all about their chilled out lifestyle and travelling stories… For anyone who was thinking about visiting HK, the 7s weekend is not really typical…generally the Xpats are pretty well behaved… it tends to be the out-of-towners that let the side down (Em & Simon excluded of course!!??)…Enjoy the rest of your travels in South America and keep writing – looking forward to seeing the AUS and NZ entries. Andy was a bit offended that you think he’s become a cock, I think he’ll forgive you though… thanks to you he just made a killing on his Hunter Valley stock… next hot tip Jose Cuervo Tequila??!! Take care and enjoy yourselves x x x x.
