LL Cool J and me! Don't we make a nice couple!!
Wow... I still can't believe that I met him. It's official, he is THE love of my life!! :o) ha ha Well, what can I say?!! Monday must rank as the best day of my life...and you wanna know why? My friend and I were walking down Hollywood Boulevard to go to the Underground to get the tube to Universal Studios, and we stumbled across a film set on Vine Street. We were standing across the road wandering who the famous person was and I seen a black guy signing autographs and when he turned around I nearly DIED... It was non other than 'LL Cool J'! And for anyone who doesn't alreayd know, I've always loved that man!
So anyway, I grabbed my friend and literally ran across the road as fast as my little legs would carry me and stood by the barriers near where he was standing. He caught my gaze and I asked if he would have a photo with me and he just said so cool..."Sure"!. WELL.... I had palpitations and everything and was shaking as his security guard waved me onto the set to have my picture taken. I threw my camera into my friends hands and demanded she turn into a photographer for about 2 seconds to get a good shot! When I approached
him he shook my hand and asked how I was.... I was SHAKING (Yes pathetic I know but I couldn't help it!). I just mumbled that I was fine as I was so shy.... he he he.
So then about 10 minutes afterwards he started filming his scenes which involved him getting stopped by LAPD and frisked... well obviously I enjoyed watching that bit! :o)))))) Photo's attached...enjoy!
Eventually we got to Universal Studio's. We watched a Blues Brothers show which was fantastic. It must of been a day for me to mix with Celebrities as one of them jumped off the stage whilst singing 'Shake your Tail Feather', and grabbed me out of the audience to get up and dance! Again.... I nearly died but it was great fun.
We then went and saw the Terminator 3 set..... wow it was great. I was getting right into it sitting there with my 3D glasses on, screaming at things that were 'Coming to get me!'. The Mummy ride was great, I thought I was flying with the speed the rollercoaster took off at. I'm surprised it didn't blow my cheeks off!
We took the Universal Studios film making tour. They have
so many studios, but one of them was dedicated to Kong. Desperate Housewives is filmed there and we actually drove around Wisteria Lane as it was Sunday and they wasn't filming! Seeing the way they do visual effects was brilliant. The plane crash for War of the Worlds is there too and its huge. It's just like it is in the movie...wreckage still everywhere. I saw the Pyscho house plus where they film water scenes for movies like 'Bruce Almighty' with Jim Carey. There was just so much to see, the weather was nice and it was a great day out.
The next day we took a Tour around the Kodak Theatre. We sat on the front row seats which is where all the Oscar nominees sit so I may have been sitting in a George Clooney seat!! Afterwards we got the bus from Hollywood Boulevard to Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills. We got off outside the Beverly Hills Hotel and I was dying for a pee so for a laugh we walked up the very posh drive to the Hotel where people outside were being chauffer driven away and walked inside to use the bathrooms!! No questions were asked anyway
and you should have seen the toilets.... I took a picture of them they were soooo posh!
We had lunch on Beverly Drive at a place called the Cheesecake Factory (very nice food), the street runs adjacent to Rodeo Drive. It was great to just sit and watch the world go by. Then we did some shopping and took a look round all the designer stores. And no... I didn't spend a fortune :o) Although I have seen a fabulous pair of Blvgari sunglasses which I adore so watch this space.......!!!!
Yesterday we took the free hostel shuttle to Venice beach. It was a little windy though so we couldn't appreciate it's full beauty so we ended up shopping in this vintage store and I bought the most amazing vintage dress you've ever seen. I feel like a princess in it... in fact it looks like Vintage Versace that the likes of Sienna Miller would wear to the Oscars...Wow. I was so amazed with the shop because back home second hand shops are usually full of crap.... well this one was full of gorgeous stuff. Mind you... there's very rich people that live in the area.
Then last night we
went to the Hollywood Wax Musuem. I'm not joking Samuel L Jackson looked like he was gonna come alive and say 'boo' to scare me! Some of the wax works were better than others but overall they had some really good displays on show. I've attached some pictures too.
So today... well I'm taking the 'day off' for a well deserved chilling day as I've done so much over the last few days. I'm sure I'll be putting another update on here soon enough so once again, stay tuned!! :o) xxxxxxxxxx
