well we've arrived...and learnt a few things along thw way!

well well well...where to start!

we got on the plane at heathrow and sat on it and sat on it and sat on it...for 3.5 hours...beofre we even took off. yes i know it was mad!. however...i did mangae one thing...my first blag...i managed to get a free bottle of molton brown hand cream (and a big one) from the air steward, becasue my skin was getting dry...bless...then from another one we got supplies of water coke and vodka...so first rule learnt always befriend the air stewdards/esses! We got off the plain and managed to get us ourselves on to the airport shuttle bus 16yuan as opposed to 100 for a taxi...so about 1.20 pounds!

the downside it dropped us somewhere entirely random...but we met a nice western couple who were heading in the same direction and are on an intrepid tour too...so they helped us loads! found the building of our hostel...but then i tried to take us in...instead we were wandering through a chinese supermarket with all pur bags trying to get out...not v. amusing!
anyway...hostel was ok.. nice...actually we're using it now for cheap interent access! so then looked around beijing for some dinner...went to a lovely looking place (si - a bit like honeys) but the food was so blilmin hot...i thought i'm not going to eat for a month!

anyway had better go soon! that was day one will try and update soon!
