My Bungalow on the BeachMy Bungalow on the BeachMy Bungalow on the Beach

Ukulele, Beach, Bamboo shack... what more does one need?
Left Phi Phi on Sunday (sunday? i think so... what day is it now? is this a weekday?) ...anyway, I'm now on Ko Pha Ngan, which is about 300k's or so north east and on the other side of Thailand- above Ko Samui. It's very much the party island (just in case I didn't already get my fill on Phi Phi!! AGH!) but I've been having a bit of a chill for a couple of days. I'm staying in a small bamboo bungalow ON the beach, with a hammock and... coconuts... and... not much else. oh, it has a light. luxury! it is BRILLIANT! I may just rent it for the rest of my life, as it only costs 50B a night- which is equivalent to about $1.60 or something... I'm trying to get my old roomie from Phi Phi to come and share it with me, so it will only be half that, but it's pretty good as is. Met some other guys yesterday and we all hired motorbikes and rode over to Hat Rin- which is where they have the Full Moon parties of 15,000+ people every month. I'd never ridden a motorbike before, but AHH LOFF IT!! For

ahh... the serenity. no need for a fan, the sea breeze blasts through my window onto my head all night.
only 150B a day, it's cheaper than taking a taxi or boat or anything else! and there is SO MUCH FREEDOM! We lost a couple of the guys in town though on the way back at about 10 oclock at night, and they still haven't arrived. I hope they're ok!! We went out hunting for them at around midnight, but no luck.

Anyway, I'm staying up on the west coast far away from the madness of the full moon parties- where apperently there is a lot of crime and shenanigans going on. I may head down there for the party, but we'll see. if I can round up a smallish crew of people i know and would rather hang out with (my gorgeous welsh girl is coming here! woohoo!) then maybe we'll get some takeaway 'entertainment' and head to a secluded beach somewhere to have a party of our own. I bought a CD player and some speakers and a FULLY SICK sub-woofer yesterday for 2000B (about $60), so there will no shortage of music- and GOOD music at that! ...except Helen has my speakers... and she's lost... doh.

oh well, I shall keep thine a-posted on events

Your stories are the highlight of my day Charlie, I'm so bloody proud of you, and so ridiculously happy for you (ok, and just a tad envious!). I'm so glad for the invent of modern technology just so you can keep in touch with all exciting and interesting people you must be meeting on your journey. Keep sharing the love. Ellie xx

Good to hear from you and see the piccies.
It's rrraaaaiiiiinnning again, it is cold and miserable and school suxxxx. Not at all jealous of you. Had enough of school after only 2 days back. Jasper keeping us up for 2 hours in the night may be infuencing our perceptions somewhat......actually nah - not at all. We need to get out of here. Thanks for the photos, they are just what we needed. They are an inspiration and a motivator. Jasper is looking at the photo's rught now and saying Charlie, Charlie over and over and over in a growly voice. More photos would be great, or more words if you feel so inclined and can drag yourself away from your special Welsh friend. Lots of love B, Dad and Jasper
