last weekend i took a spin on horseback through the cévennes mountains north of montpellier. it was a curvy bumpy three hour ride by bus each way, so needless to say, everyone on board was ailing. the scenery was beautiful, the horse was ornery, and the lifestyle was slow and calm. my horse's name was lancelot, so i gave him permission to be a little cranky. he came out of a separate pen from most of the other horses, and he looked at me with crazy eyes from the start. he was very matted and although i spent a lot of time making him pretty, i don't think it changed his opinion of me. a small group of us galloped, but my horse felt the need to take the lead and pull ahead of all of the other horses, going much faster than should have been permitted. nothing was going to stop ol' lancelot. for the rest of the ride i admired the holly growing in the woods, and the frequency of chestnut trees around me. the only other thing of note from the past week is i succeeded in watching 19 episodes of gilmore girls in three days, thanks
to tom's package which i received last thursday. the rest of my time is spent trying to memorize synonyms or mais, pour, and other words like that. one more weekend, and then it is spring break with my mudda!

What a fun time...the dog shots are terrific-- I especially like the doggy and his shadow one.
