back in the saddle again

March 20th 2007
last weekend i took a spin on horseback through the cévennes mountains north of montpellier. it was a curvy bumpy three hour ride by bus each way, so needless to say, everyone on board was ailing. the scenery was beautiful, the horse was ornery, and the lifestyle was slow and calm. my horse's name was lancelot, so i gave him permission to be a little cranky. he came out of a separate pen from ... read more
