Hello one and all, im still alive and breathing, im also still in good old Melbourne - i will leave one day i promise.
Since my last blog over a month ago i have to be honest in that not too much has happened that anyone in the world would consider exciting except for 3 things.
1) Im now working for a company called Harry The Hirer doing Marquee work along with every other backpacker in Melbourne i think, its ok work and you get to see areas you'd never normally see at events like the G.P and things, the money is pretty turd to be honest ($16 Ph before tax) and you get paid every 2 weeks which seems an eternity but it does look good to see almost a grand go into the bank... even if it is in worthless Australian currnecy.
2) Finally found a room in a nice house with 3 students. The rent is only $85 a week. Its tiny but it fits a bed, my backpack and a clothes rack so im happy, also theres no snoring or drunk people through the night to wake me. I had to buy a bed
for the room which at first looked like a costly task untill i stumbled upon a huge second hand shop and paid $12 for all my sheets and covers instead of the $70 the usual shops demanded, encouraged by my first second hand experience i found a bed base for a mere $35 in the Salvo's, and landed myself a $25 mattress at a garage sale i found and to round off nicely i found a pillow for $7 and a duvet for $10 both in a factory seconds shop. So ive ended up with probably the comfiest bed ive ever had for $89... 37 pounds.
3) Went to the Grand Prix on Sunday, a Sunday general admission was $99 and was well worth it, had to get there about half 9 in the morning to get a decent view and between then and the main race they had other stuff going on like helicopter displays, fighter jet displays, a London bound Qantas 747 doing a low fly by, sky divers, and of course other races on the track so time flew. All the drivers were driven round on a parade lap before the race waving nicely to the
crowd, then they were let loose in the F1 cars and they are seriously seriuously bloody loud in person, i was on corner 10 but sadly didnt see any exciting collisions. After the race a band called Evermore played liove who were really good but we didn't stay for it all as we were sick of the sun, really hungry and only had 4 hours sleep in the previous 36. Still was a really cool experience and if you get the chance and haven't already - go see one as the TV dose not do them justice. Also i heard Murray Walker commentating on the qualifying over here on channel 10... i thought he'd retired!? I"ll be putting a video of all but one of the cars flying by on the first lap onto youtube soon as i get a chance, the link is http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=andyforrester
So thats all for now - told you there wasn't much.

Keep the blogs coming and get some pics of dirty ozzy birds up soon as poss. Its freezing over here and I need something like that to warm my COCKles.............
