Bangkok TempleBangkok TempleBangkok Temple

Not sure of the name but the first place i found. pretty spectacular and different from a lot of the others since it has a dark roof and looks kinda gothic
Well where to start.
first thing is, its hot here.high 30's everyday.
Place is very noisy.Tuk Tuks flying around everywhere, scooters, cars
the works. crossing the road is an experience.

didn't buy a map til the second day and just basically wandered in completely the wrong direction. saw very little in terms a couple of fairly interesting temples.

luckily later tried going right out of the hotel and it was a completely different ball game.

lights, shops, stalls, bars, fresh smoothies for 20 baht,(60 to the pound) pat thai noodles for 20, big bottle of lager for 50, deep fried insects and fish that are unbelievebly ugly.
basically they will eat/deep fry anything !
loads of mangy dogs and cats.not sure if they deep fry them though !

haven't seen the seedy side of bangkok at all.
got a bit annoyed with a couple of Tuk tuk drivers, they basically want to drive you around then take you to a mates to sell you a suit.

a suit , in this weather !! are they mad !!!

The Temples are amazing especially the grand palace, wat po and wat arun.the photos don't do them justice
Wat ArunWat ArunWat Arun

Toke this from a beautiful coffee house as the sunset. stunning image, nice capp too!
at all.
love all the stalls and just the vibe of the place.
Khason Road is the main back packer bit.lots of shopping, food, drink, massages, everything you could imagine.

Defintely highly recommended for a stop over or a week or so before heading off else where.

Hard to capture how steep and tall this place is. not allowed up to the top, probably my second fav temple.just dominates the river view and is pretty simple compared to most of the others
Grand palaceGrand palace
Grand palace

Part of the temple of the emerald Budda.basically a courtyard or a series of court yards with sparlking everything. looks amazing with the sun gleaming off the thousands upon thousands of what seem to be glass tiles/mosiac

this is kinda the main bit. unbelieveable, like a disney set. had to wear a shirt and MC Hammer style pants to get into all of this. very stylish!

some of the street food is really good and really cheap, just don't know what everything is, avoid the fish and insects and you'll be fine

Impersonator
Is it really you in the top corner, looks like some stranger who has gone to a masked ball, and chosen your face as a mask - or maybe its just a cool pose -who knows. Good to hear from you - sounds and looks fantastic. Did you not leave room for a cheap smart suit?
