They say yes, even when they have no clue what you're talking about...

After 3 days in Bangkok I can say that it's a place where you can buy absolutely EVERYTHING! I really have to keep myself from buying all the pretty little things. I keep telling myself that I'll have to carry whatever I buy with me for another 4 months. This pretty much helps.

Thai people are very friendly and always, really always say yes. They even say yes when they have no idea what you want from them. Many taxi drivers are like that, too. You tell them where you wanna go and they say yes. After a while you start to figure that they have no idea where to go. Then you try to help them by pointing at the requested place on a map, but they still have no clue, it seems. Same thing in stores. You ask for a t-shirt in a certain size. They say yes. but when you ask for it, they don't have. All this just because it's impolite to say no... tough place to live, I think. However, Bangkok definitely is a great place. Very busy, a million of shops, and great food.

Tomorrow, we're on our way to Kanchanaburi. One of my dad's cousins lives there. Should be pretty exciting to see how it is to actually live in this country.
