Monday 22nd January 2006 Didn't have the best night's sleep - the rollmats were crap and even though we slpet on sand we both suffered constant dead leg/shoulder and had to keep rotationg all night. We were up at 5.30am and after packing up it was my turn to drive for the day. I drove us up to Indian Head, where there was some confusion as to where we were supposed to park. We tried getting up inland and got stuck - but watching others that was no suprise. So we parked as high up the beach as we could and hoped teh tide didn't come up that far. AS others arrived and copied us we hoped we had done the right thing, or we might be the cause of the highest number of vehicles trashed on Fraser in a single day!
We had break fast and left the car to go for a walk. We climbed up to the top of Indian Head and watched huge rays and pods of dolphins. We then walked the along a beach - staying out of the water due to stingers and sharks. Fraser's beaches are a definate no-go. It's a breeding ground
for Tiger Sharks (man eater) and we could see their fins in the surf every now and then.
We walked for 40 mins until we got to some rocks that provided deep rock pools, big enough to swim in, protected from the sharks. It was called Champagne Pools, becasue of the constant white water breaking over the rocks.
After playing there long enough for high tide to come and start to go, we started our walk back. It was funny to see how many people had walked all the way tehre without anything on their feet and now (with the sand painfuly hot) running, making noises like chimps to get to shade or the sea to soothe their burnt feet.
After lunch (with Dingos coming to try and steal it) I then drove us down the beach to our campsite, where we were joined by the two other groups from our hostel and a Koala tour 4x4 After suasage spagetti diner we got into the wine. Lisa and I went to be relatively early and missed the Scotland vs England drinking game...

Hardcore Indian Head
I had to drive into Indian Head when we were there, I stuck it in to low second and gunned it all the way, it was the most hardcore/scary driving I've ever had to do. When we got there a guy in our group trod in a human turd in his bare feet, very funny because he was a t**t!
