Hi Everyone!
I hope you're all well. I've spent a week with my dear kiwi friend, Kelley at her farm in Te Ahora (thanks a million mate, had the best time!). We did so much! Drove, walked and sailed about the Coromandel Peninsula and checked out the North Island too. This involved beautiful sunsets, cockle picking (and eating - yum!), a trip to hot water beach (burnt feet galore), milking 2 cows (yup, Harvey is set to take on the udders), seeing kiwis and feeding keas and kakas. I've also been to.......Mordor and The Shire!!! Yup, the real deal! Have entered Bag End and seen the fires of Mount Doom.
We've also been to some beautiful caves to spy gloworms and I've seen real Maori's do the Haka (their tongue wagging and peck smacking scared me lots).
I've also been sea fishing on Kelley's dad's boat (thanks Kenny!) and caught Snappers - and eaten them! (may they rest in peace in my belly).
So folks, I'm now back with the girlies (and Rick) and we're in Rotorua until tomorrow. The smell of sulpher from the geothermal pools is making us gagworthy so we've had enough. We did visit a polynesian mineral
spa. My hair feels all soft...lovely jubbly!
Anyhoo, I've added photos to all my diary entries now so check them out.
Off to Taupo tomorrow and we're gonna check out more huge geyshers - hot stuff!
Tarrah, hope the snow has cleared for you.
Love Bex
