Well, it is time for Ya'll Convention and this year it is being held in Jekyll Island, Georgia, which is a state park. The island is home to historical architecture and a lovely beach on the Atlantic Ocean. The hotel has an outdoor pool that is not heated. The weather is beautiful, except it is too cold to get in the water. I would definitely like to visit here again, though a warning: you have to pay for parking on the island.

Parking Fee for Jekyll Island
I was glad to read your post, sounds like you had a nice time. I hope you found the $3 Parking Fee worth it, the money is used to take care of the public areas - beach crossovers, bike paths, etc. No other tax money is given to the Jekyll Island Authority for these things, so guests are charged. But we think $3 for uncrowded beach may be the best baragin around these days!
