Ling works on level 57 in the tower on the right....the bridge is at level 41/42 so get counting!
I flew Air Asia, which is Malaysia’s brilliant low cost airline. They’ve just started Air Asia X which operates long haul flight between Malaysia and London starting at $2 so we’ve got no excuse not to see more of Ling. I would say vice versa if she hadn’t sold her soul.

When I arrived in KL I suddenly realized how grubby I’d become. Before I’d met Ling I made a vain attempt at cleaning myself - thank god for face wipes . I spotted Ling a mile off. She was sitting waiting patiently and even with my massive bag on I managed to sneak up on her.

You shouldn’t bite the hand that feeds you (or in this case fed you) but Ling has the worst navigational skills! I’m starting to think she chose Bath uni because it was in a small city! On the drive from the airport to her house she took three wrong turns and she’s lived there her whole life! Amazingly we ended up behind a car with a Bath uni sticker in the rear window - small world.

We asked someone to take a pic of us infront of the towers and he did just that, only you'd never guess!
Ling treated me to a feast of dishes and we finished the evening in front of the TV gorging ourselves on Chinese New Year goodies and chatting about everyone from uni.

On day one we blitzed KL. I turned Ling into a proper tourist and even made her visit the building she works in! On day two we visited the chilled out trading city of Malacca. Here we met an old Malaysian woman who insisted Ling should marry me - I couldn’t understand a word, but Ling’s disgusted face and laughter said it all…thanks a lot.

Sadly I had no time to spend in Malaysia, but I’ll definitely be back and hopefully with some Brendon Buddies. I owe Ling and her family a massive thank you for their kindness and generosity. They made me feel truly welcome and I can honestly say I had three of my best nights sleep this entire trip in your home! A big thanks to Ling for covering the World’s cuisines in 3 nights - I’m still full!

Ling likes to save all her energy for working world, but she doesn't mind wasting a bit on sign language.

Ling wouldn't take me to her office. I think I've just worked out why because this is what I did while on the bridge connecting the two towers!

Ling made sure I was well fed! I didn't think I could put on weight, but I've definitely changed my mind! The first thing ling said to me when we met was 'you've bulked up' she followed that with 'I didn't say it was muscle'....what will I look like by the summer??

Malaysia truely asia! =P
For all of you brendon court-ians! I hope you all have a good excuse for not visiting me in KL coz this is what you're missing out on!! =P Man... have way too many comments for this blog post... will just create a parallel commentary for the pics you posted up since i don't know where to start "Pic 1 - Tourist Photo" Think you just wanted to look cool in that photo charles casey. Check out the Raybans! =) "Pic 2 - Great Pic" We had to choose the worst possible candidate to take the photo. He seemed to think that our feet were more interesting subjects rather than the looming twin towers behind us. (btw, watch my desperate attempt to be as tall as charlie on the stairs) "Pic 3 - KL" As they say, Malaysia truely asia! =) "Pic 4 - Littel Miss Lazy" Hey, I'm a strong believer in conserving energy. Btw, I meant MY OWN energy. "Pic 5 - Star Jump!" The security guard was giving Charlie really wierd looks after that "Pic 6 - Ling proudly posing next to GREAT food!" Charlie seems to have ommitted the photo of the shop mascot. He was dressed as a chicken and mannnn... he just couldn't get enough of charlie! - suspect he was very very interested indeed ;) "Pic 7 - Courts, Petronas and KL" This picture was the best result after 30 mins of random photo taking "Pic 8 - Put a fork in me, I'm done!" Hehehehe..... to be honest, you didn't look that bad when I first saw you. I might have made it a bit worse with all the food I fed you though. You left KL looking like you were 3 months pregnant =) "Pic 9 - Hehe tourists" Trishaws in Vietnam don't look anything near as nice as they do back in Melaka! Oh oh... talking about Vietnam, I just had dinner at Little Hanoi and it was pretty good stuff =) "Pic 10 - Do these come in a bigger size?" Don't even think my hands could fit into one of those let alone my feet "Pic 11 - Cool bike" Charlie's bike was striking neon green while mine was pink. Think we managed to catch everybody's attention everytime we rode by "Pic 12 - Ling's Valentine Date" Yes yes.. on the 14th of February 2007, Ling had to choose between spending her Valentines Day with "John Doe" in the pic, and the owner of this blog. You really can't blame me for choosing John Doe can you?! =P

Spot on!
Hahaha! Brilliant commentary Ling! ....see, the best part about having a blog is controlling what you put on it, but when you meet an old friend she can shed a little more light on the truth - dam! Oh the belly is going down because food in Indonesia is awful! Most meals consist of cold rice with cold dehydrated chicken that could quite honestly be any meat and most probably is with some horrible fishy paste that I wouldn't eat if you paid me!
