Apart from the main roads, most the smaller roads in Chiang Rai look like this.
Thurs 15th Feb:
Got up fairly early, went and had breakfast and then headed for the Arcade bus station.

After a 4 hour bus journey, which stopped at a few stops along the way (most of which were deserted places that sold drinks, snacks and had toilets), we arrived at Chiang Rai.

Chiang Rai is small town, with not a lot to it really. We found a hostel that is okay, and only costs us 1 pound each a night. We spent the night walking around the market and then had a few drinks and started to plan our next step.

Fri 16th Feb:
Just walked around today seeing the market and a few Wats, spent the morning planning money, route etc. for Laos and Cambodia and updated the Blog. More a planning day really not much to tell.

This is right by our hostel. Our balcony is about 20 metres away and you can hear the prayers there at about 8 at night.

silent roar
just a little silliness- You canBuy Lion poo from Safari Park type places here and you just scatter a small amount in tubs and borders. I'm reliably informed that you won't have any problem with neighbourhood frisky felines. Don't worry I dont expect you to bring any back.
