Cacti and Rob
¡This was not staged! It's been a while and may not have been, but we had some technical difficulties and lost all our pictures about a week ago. The end result is no pictures of Mancora, where we spent a week and a half learning to surf and browning our bodies. Mancora had a beautiful beach and the water was warm. The waves were a little crowded, but the surf was great. The town consisted of one drag that was also the Pan American highway. Mancora is only about two hours from Ecuador. Crossing the border from Ecuador into Peru was our worst day: we were given fake currency in a shady money exchange and we were also knowingly ripped off by a worm of a taxi driver. What can you do? Learn and move on.
Eight hours south of Mancora, we spent about five days in Huanchaco. It's a slightly larger surfing community near Trujillo, which is the biggest city in Northern Peru. Tons of breaks, though the water is a bit colder and you have to watch out for the rocks. From Huanchaco it's on to Lima!
