Hostal Santa Cruz
Baños from our third floor balcony Hola!
We departed Ecuador´s capital on Jan. 22 for the more remote, but still mountainous town of Baños. Our favourite spot yet! Baños has a population comparable to home: only 16K people. It is known for it´s hotsprings and the people are extremely friendly. We spent a day ripping around on bikes, exploring waterfalls. There were few casualties. We got our first real endorphine high here when we tried our luck with a swing jump. No luck involved - it was actaully pretty safe. Check the pics. We stayed a couple of days here and then headed to the colonial city of Cuenca.
On the bus route we met up with a quad of two Germans, a Francophone and a Brazilian, who we kicked it with for our time in Cuenca. Our hostel allowed brilliant panoramics of the city. During the days we checked out the Inca site of Incapirca and wandered the cobbled streets. For our ruins tour we had quite the translating session: from Spanish to French to German and, finally, to English for Rob and I.

Thanks for sharing your trip in a way I never thought possible. This is much better than TV or MSN! Any lurking Inca or Pizzaro ghosts.........................................?
