TenderTenderTender

This is one of the tenders we took ashore when the dock was too small to accomodate the ship.
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Today's stop was Cabo San Lucas. It's extremely well known as a hotspot for American vacationers and Acacia and I now know why. It's beautiful. After riding the tender to the docks, Acacia and I joined a tour group for a short water taxi ride around the bay to see the length of Cabo from the water. We got a great view of all the various beaches, big resorts, and millionaires' mansions perched on the hill. After an hour of this we were on our own for the rest of the day. We first walked around town where, while doing some window shopping, we bought 3 tacos from a guy with a pushcart in the street. How could they not be good? I've found in my variuos travels that the dirtier the street vendor, the better the food. That means these were fantastic! (and they were) We eventually made our way down to the beach where we lounged, walked, and swam for a few hours before heading back towards the ship. We ducked into a little restaurant down by the docks where we had a beer and some mahi mahi tacos (Cathy, you just have to trust

us on this. Tacos made from fresh fish are the best the universe has to offer!) Once back aboard, we had just the right amount of time to put in some laundry then attend afternoon tea. They have afternoon tea in one of the dining rooms every afternoon but it's at 3:30 and we are always busy at that time. Attending today makes me wish we had made it to a few more. It was extremely fun, not to mention very tasty. Your teacup never empties as the attentive waiters are constantly refilling it while a steady stream of them keeps you supplied with cookies, mini sandwiches, desserts, and (Dad, get ready for this...) fresh hot scones! We mingled for about an hour at our table with 6 others, all of which were quite friendly and interesting. Afterwards, what better than nap time? Exactly... Nothing. Dinner this evening was better than expected. After viewing the menu yesterday evening, nothing really jumped out at us. It ended up great, though. The theme of the evening (there's an official theme every evening though I've neglected to write about it until now) was the head chef's favorites. The centerpiece of the whole evening

was king crabs. At our table, the four of us had four regular entrees in addition to four plates of king crab legs. You could say we were stuffed but that would be an understatement. Afterwards, Acacia didn't feel so well so she came back to the room to lie down while I went to the comedy show in the lounge. The performer was quite entertaining though his material was geared more towards the older crowd. I thought it was funny but the older people in the crowd seemed to really love it. Now it's bed time. Two days at sea and we'll be back in San Francisco! Now sleeeeeeeep......

I rest my case
You ate fish tacos TWICE in one day. That's living on the edge. I notice the journal saying that Acacia wasn't feeling well by the end of the day. Coincidence? I think not. I still stand by my earlier remarks about mixing fish and Mexican food. It's freezing here-- 5 degrees outside and less than 50 degrees inside. The stupid utility company needs to get here pronto! No gas, no heat.

Forget the utility company
You're gonna need the ice delivery guy to come pick you up pretty soon.
