We went to our professor's house in Woking on the 4th to celebrate Independence Day, since she is also an American. She had sausages and cakes and some other British food to celebrate, which were really really good (especially the cakes), as well as beer and Pimm's (its like sangria, I think) to drink. Here garden is enormous, and she let us swim in her covered swimming pool. Thankfully it was covered because in the few hours we were there it had changed weather about 20 times, from sunny to rain to hail back to rain and then back again to sunny to start all over again. We still had a great time, and talking to some of their family friends, it gave us an interesting view of America, since thats all it seems they talk about.

Woking is famous for being the home of H.G. Wells, and he had the small town of woking be the landing sight for the Martians in his book War of the Worlds. We tried to go to the movie theatre in Woking itself to go watch the new movie by Stephen Spielberg, but we had to go back to Uxbridge to drop off the van, so we were dropped off in the city center and watched the film there. All in all the film was enjoyable, being one of the most intense movies I have ever seen, although not necessarily frightening or scary (I don't think Spielberg has the heart to actually scare his audience), even though there were a lot of points in the film that didn't really make much sense or were fully explained. I still give it a thumbs up simply because it was interesting and was enjoyable, so it fulfilled its purpose of keeping me entertained.
