So the one day I decide that it isn"t necessary to wear a jacket is the one day that Amsterdam decides to snow...and snow heavily. Amsterdam residents told me that this was definitely not typical. Anyways, it made for a lot of good pictures.

Today was a pretty relaxed day. Didn't do much other than buy books, attend the Prinsengracht orientation, and go to a friends birthday. The RAs at the orientation were hilarious. The thing they said that most captured the Dutch "figure it out yourself" mentality was "If the fire alarm goes off...umm...I don't know...if it's a real fire or something, peek your head out the door and see what everyone else is doing. Don't call us." All this said while drinking a Heineken(of course).

The party was fun. I didn't stay too long since the trams stop running at midnight, but I did get to stay long enough to enjoy the Dutch Apple Pie birthday cake. If the Dutch do one thing well, its apple pies.

Ooooh...I got a webcam and microphone, so if you want to chat face to face, I'm all hooked up to do so.

This weekend will be filled with homework, flea markets, and hopefully the Van Gogh museum.

Travel update: Might be going to Maastricht next weekend for Carnival, and will be heading to Berlin April 13th (possibly).

So off I go to Best Buy to get a webcam, give me 24 hours to figure it out and then maybe we'll chat. Enjoy!
