Walking on the Bridge over the River Kwai
There was no safety railings or anything...bit scary but exciting too So I'm sitting in a net cafe opposite our guesthouse - Apple's guesthouse its called, computer is soooo slow but i've managed to get the chance to upload some pics... Today we caught a cab to the Southern bus station and I talked to the cab driver in THai..was fun. Then we caught a 2 hour air con bus where they handed out bottled water for us, a nice touch. Afterwards we got into a songklaew and got to Apples Guesthouse. Its sooo nice her, much more chill than BKK. Bkk was just getting too stinky for me 😊 Everyone in our group is from AUstralia except for Adri, she's from Canada. And everyone is female and early 20s except for a few couples but they are also early 20s. We then had lunch and I tried a thai wisky and also a frozen watermelon drink which was SOOOOO good. Afterwards our guide PC took us on the longtail boats to the JEATH museum (jeath standing for Japanese, European, Australian, Thailand and Holland - all of those involved in the building of the river kwai). Was quite sad what some of the POWs had to go through.. Then we went to
the war cemetry and following on from this walked across the bridge over the river kwai. That was SCARY!@! there were no railings or anything..just the tracks to walk on. Sorry I haven't placed the pics in any order but you get the gist. Tonight we are having dinner at Apple's again and tomorrow we are going to Erawan Falls and some night markets. So far I have bought a watch and some fake Birkens over here. Bargaining is really fun 😊 Will update again in a couple of days...my time is up!
