Elephant on Roadside
This elephant had a ranger helping it out. We also saw two wild ones munching tree branches. India is full of animals. There are plenty of cows and dogs roaming the streets of Bangalore. Up in Ooty there were more horses and goats roaming than cows and dogs. But the animals are everywhere. Whenever I leave the city of Bangalore and enter the villages and distant stretches of land I'm reminded of growing up in the Midwest. Lots of greenery, fields and animals to be had in Iowa.
However, the wildest animal you are bound to find in Iowa is a wildcat or cougar. Not that I thumb my nose at the cougar. However there is something so exciting about seeing a tiger or elephant in the wild of their natural habitat.
I did see three elephants and tons of monkeys and peacocks and probably close to 30 deer on the way to and from Ooty and at the Bandipur Wildlife Park. I didn't see any tigers however. That would've been cool. I console myself with the knowledge that maybe I was looking the the direction of a tiger sleeping.
Still have yet to see a cobra either...and not one of those cobras where they remove the venom sacs and destroy the snake, but a real wild cobra.
Baby Monkey with Family
There were a few tiny baby monkeys at Bandipur. This one kept trying to jump off the concrete but it was more like awkward falling. So long as I see it from very far away.

Animal Heaven
I am a little jealous of you with all these cool animals you've been able to see. I love the pics! I had a dream the other night that I was holding a baby elephant and it was really cute. If you get the chance to meet any more exotic animals, DO take more pictures of it all. I'm living vicariously at the moment. Keep having fun!
