So after deciding that we were going to leave Cusco we found out that there was an trance rave in the Sacred Valley, even though normally that wouldn’t be my type of music the fact that it was a 3 day festival helped to make up my mind (as well as the only other option being at Mama Africa’s - A cheesy night club) with other drunken fools.

So New Years Eve didn't quite go to plan, not so much the problem being that we started drinking so early more the fact that I drank so much so quickly.

When we arrived at the site which was about a 15/20 minute walk from town there was hardly anybody there so we headed back into town and brought the New Year in the main plaza. This was quite hilarious as there was no real count down and everybody started celebrating at different times, I finally decided to do a 10 second countdown and then we said our happy new years! This was strange as there was no Old Lan Sign just a bunch of Peruvians and a few foreigners falling all over the place (not much different to the clubs back home I can hear you saying - well your right on that account).

We eventually ventured to the site and sat outside with some new Peruvian friends we had made for a couple of hours drinking more Vodka. On getting inside I suddenly decided that I didn't want to stay and started trekking home......Numerous people tried to stop me but I had it in my head that I was going so I was off. After about 10 minutes walking I realised that I was in the middle of what felt like Beirut, there was no Tuk Tuk's and I didn't have a clue where I was going. The problem now being that I couldn't find the party either!! Eventually a Tuk Tuk arrived in shining armour and I headed back. On passing the Plaza a random bunch of Peruvians were trying to pull me out of the Tuk Tuk to start partying with them. I politely refused with a poke to the ribs and eventually received the safety of what had been my home for the few days. However the owners let me in and decided that I needed to start downing shots of Rum with them while they were chanting and laughing.....Well Funny.

I finally dragged myself to bed at about 4ish by sneaking off while they weren't looking and later awoke at 6ish to my room mate returning. I couldn't sleep and got up for breakfast (mad I know) then started making as much noise as possible to wake my buddies......Yes you guessed it, by early afternoon I had dragged them back to the party where we started to celebrate New Year properly. Eventually we left the following morning at 4ish again as we thought that it wasn't fair to leave Max sleeping around the fire as he had been there for about 4 hours! I am glad to say though that the music was all funky house and therefore turned out all alright!

Unfortuantely no body had the pace for the 3rd day so we all took recovered.
