Before it got messy!!
Westwoods Words.........

Happy New Year everyone! Hope everyone had a good one...... we sure did! Ok, so we queued over 2 hours to get into the Botanical Gardens (Mrs McQuaries Point) to get the best view of the fireworks off the bridge and around the Opera House! So worth it............ There was a group of 9 of us - what a crew we were! Me, Kate and Danni, a girl we met in our Bondi hostel sneaked a bottle of vodka in each, I had mine in a bag underneath my skirt and the other two taped theres to their legs, Tom (another guy we were with) put his JD down his combats! We managed to drink nearly 4 litres of wine in the queue aswell!! So so funny - we played drinking games and cards all afternoon until the family fireworks at 9pm - amazing! By then loads of yachts were on the harbour and boats were floating past decorated in this years theme which was the Wizard of Oz - the main feature being an emerald. So beautiful to see all those lit up boats - got some pap photos of the boats though - they didn't turn out too good!! Ok..... so the main event - by midnight we were all very merry, stumbling around in the dark and dancing like fools to our respective ipods! The fireworks were incredible - words cannot describe the atmosphere you experience at the moment after the countdown and then a massive cheer erupts around you and then lights, lasers, fireworks everywhere, behind the Opera House, on and over the bridge, so so incredible to see! Got some amazing photos....... I won't forget that sight in a hurry - it would take a very special new year in the future to top that one!! Felt soooo lucky to see it.

Anyway we're in Melbourne now......so different to Sydney! So, how did we get to Melbourne you may be wondering??!! (for those of you that don't know it takes 12 hours to drive Sydney to Melbourne - around 1000km) ROADTRIP - in a subaru outback! Oh what fun we had.....hysterical! Another blog will be posted about our roadtrip adventure so watch this space..............!!
Keep the emails coming - love 'em! Love Kate xx

Bettys...
Hey all Happy New Year! Hope everbody had a great NYE and are not too gutted at getting back to work? Like Kate said we had a fab NYE, we did manage to sneak our taped on bottles in - very uncomfortable walking the length of Sydney with half bottle of vodka strapped to your thigh i can tell ya! I couldnt go to the loo for about 4 hours cos i taped it over my jeans but under my dress duh! And then they barely searched your bags - typical! It was well worth the queing in the end - they really do put on a great show over here they had something every hour on the hour from about 6pm - air displays and a boat light parade... cant seem to remember more cant have been that spectacular then! We spent new years day on Bondi again and stayed there until the 4th when we left on our road trip. Bondi was great a really nice atmosphere, really good shops like a little second hand bookstore where you could sit and have a drink and a read, and lots of boutique and vintage clothes shops. Our hostel 'Surfside' was a bit unclean and rowdy, so wasnt too distressed that we decided to leave early for Melbourne.
So another lovely city now to explore - will fill you in on our comedy road trip soon, lots of great pics from that.
Take care everybody, hope you're sticking to you're resolutions!
Loads of love K xxxxxxx
p.s thanks Kel for your New Years Eve call - you proper made my day!! :-)
