Recovering from the long haul home the night before, we felt the definite need to make the most of our hotel faculties, so off to the Jacuzzi and Sauna for a winter warm up before heading out to do some major damage at the shops!

Once adequately relaxed, and back in our room, we were struggling to locate the music coming in from off the street.. It wasn’t any obvious neighbours, and there were no big Marquees around, it just seemed to be coming off the streets.. Which indeed it was, as the speakers were hung from the trees! I couldn’t tell you what they were saying or singing about, but it certainly put a spring in our step by the time we got out!!

A few hours later, and our last euros well and truly spent, and it was back to the Metro to jump on the Eurostar and head back home (with just a few extra bags)! Poor James was going to have a big shock when he picked us up from the station, as it looked like he might genuinely have to do two trips!

Picking up our tickets, Vic thought she might drop the whole birthday surprise in, and try her hand at getting an upgrade, while I sat chewing my nails, nervously awaiting immigration.. Would they let me back in!!?? Well they better, because Victoria had succeeded in at least getting us free passes into the Members Lounge with free drinks and nibblies.. The only thing between me and a glass of wine were Passport Security..

Doo.. Dooo.. Dooooooooo!!!!!!! And they let me back in!!

A few extra questions, a great big flashy smile and I was one step closer to that glass of wine! Joining us in the lounge was a Nun, who looked to be having a great time of the buffet, while Vic and I filled our pockets and bags with goodies for the journey as our train was called..

As anticipated, James looked slightly shocked by the number of bags in tow, but we all fit snugly in the car and prepared for the Birthday Finale at what has fastly become our favorite haunt, No. 1 Leicster square, with our favorite DJ Nick Blair!

And that was possibly the most amazing - and the very longest - Birthday celebration in my own history!

Thank-you sooooooooooo much to Vic, and to M,D&T for all their additional suprises!! I am a little concerned that my own Christmas gifts no-longer messure up.. Or more excitedly, if this is what I get for 20.. What's install for my 21st!!??

Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas!
It seems you've been doing extremely well down in the Big Smoke, I'd say probably a lot better than those travellers that just wind up working behind a bar on the other side of the world?! (mentioning no names!). I am also on the same shores as yourself now and I'm finding the novelty of grey skies, rain and fog soon wears off. Good to see your getting to other parts of Europe and 'Gay Paris' is a good place to start. I'm still coming to terms with being back home and I can tell you it feels REALLY wierd!! Looking at the photo's and seeing all my video footage almost seems un-real, but the memories are still there. I hope you keep having fun and enjoying this cold yet strangely appealing littel Island we call England. Take care and Happy New Year. Simon x.
