Arose early for our complimentary breakfast, which was fantastic for a complimentary continental breakfast in a city that's known for fried fish and potatoes. We talked to this guy whose daughter went to Duke... too bad for her. We then trucked through the cold rain to see the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace. We stood there with a swarm of japanese tourists and other westerners and europeans taking pictures of the most random things. I think my camera focused in more on the raindrops in the air and on the lens, sadly. Then we headed to the Worrell House and met up with the other Wake Law students, who had just finished their last class. After a refreshing visit with familiar faces, Mike and I grabbed a bite to eat and returned to the familiar faces. Much of the next few hours included trying to get someone in that house to ask the professor if they had any extra tickets or how to get tickets to see The Tempest at the Globe Theater, which they were going to see this evening. They finally found out it was sold out, but we managed to get tickets anyway through a scalper
and the standby line. It was a pretty impressive show, but I need to read a synopsis of the play to understand what all exactly happened. Then we wandered the streets, hit up a grocery store for some dinner, and cooked the food at the house. I liked Ellen's Ramen Noodles more than my pizza, but that's trivial at this point. I bought a bottle of wine but didn't have time to drink it, because we had to hurry to the tube station where we ALMOST made it home... took the northern line southbound to the red line westbound and got off at the circle line one stop away from ours. went to take the circle line back to the hotel, but they had just closed the station for the night. so we took a new, and slightly longer, walking route back to the hotel. I sat down for a well-deserved New Zealand beer and Mike went darker with something out of the tap, while my wine chilled in the mini-fridge serving as a future night's treat to rid myself of the pain I have in my feet from walking all over London. Although it's only 9:25 p.m. in NC,
it's a ripe 2:25 a.m. here so I must hit the hay... 7:45 will be coming soon. Ok maybe the alarm will be set for later. I just made that executive decision. Goodnight.
