Well I blinked and here we are, only 7 days to go until we go away!! I did say it would come round quickly..... I do not feel at all organised, although I am sure we are. We have only got to buy a few toiletries and pack. Its the packing thing that is worrying me though, I am not known for travelling light. How on earth I am going to cope with 1 pair of flip flops and my Timberlands for 3 weeks I'll never know. Primula - I can hear you laughing at me!!! Our saving grace is that as we have both lost a fair amount of weight not many clothes fit us, so that does limit our wardrobes some what.
I promised our itinerary and here is a very brief run down of what we are doing when
Friday 22nd Dec - Leave LHR for Bangkok
Saturday 23rd Dec - Arrive in Hanoi, Vietnam
Monday 25th Dec - Merry Christmas Everyone - Go to Halong Bay to board Emeraude Cruiser for 2 days.
Tuesday 26th Dec - Back to Hanoi
Wednesday 27th - Catch overnight train to Sapa. We spend a few days up in the mountains, walking through the Minority Villages and visiting Heavens Gate, Thac Bac Falls.
Saturday 30th Dec - Overnight train back to Hanoi
Sunday 31st Dec - Happy New Year Everyone - Overnight train (Reunification Express) to Hue
Tuesday 2nd Jan - Drive through the Mountains via Hai Van Pass, Danang and China Beach arriving in Hoi An
Wednesday 3rd Jan - Fly to Saigon then transfer on to Mui Ne for a total chill out for a few days on the beach
Saturday 6th Jan - Transfer back to Saigon and visit the Chu Chi tunnels, Reunification Palace and Chinese Quarter
Sunday 7th Jan - Visit the Mekong Delta and board a Sampan to visit the small islets and villages
Monday 8th Jan - Fly to Phnom Pehn - Cambodia. Visit the Tuio Sieng Museum (S21) and the Killing Fields
Tuesday 9th Jan - Fly up to Siem Reap and visit Angkor Wat and Bayon temple (where Tomb Raider was filmed).
Wednesday 10th Jan - Take a late evening flight to Bangkok and catch the over night flight to Heathrow.
Thursday 11th Jan - We are home!!!
This is a very basic Itinerary but it gives you an idea of what we will be up to when. If I posted our full one it would take me too long!!
The days are flying by and we are running out of time rapidly. Every day and evening from now until the day we go is booked out. If we have not managed to get to see you before we go then I am really sorry. We will catch up in the New Year and no doubt bore you silly with our photos.
Got to fly off now, too much to do!!
