Greetings from Hollywood

Hello all,
Well we arrived safe, both plane trips were comfortable the food and service was great. Lots of checks through customs as expected. (unexpected finger printing)
Our hotel room is small but clean,there is a pool, bar and a small gym . The area has great restaurants and night life (similar to the Mars BAr LOL). On the first afternoon we walked around Hollywood near by. There are some fantastic antique,art and furniture shops. We went to Beverly Hills Plaza - WOW- what a place.

Yesterday we slept in until 10.30 then caught the local bus into Downtown LA it was great. Awesome shopping and lots of it.
We walked from Chinatown (the biggest outside of China) fifteen blocks through Downtown LA. Wishing for more baggage allowance!!!

Onto the Staples Centre to watch the Ice Hockey - an exciting game, LA Kings down at the first quarter,even at the second quarter and won by one goal. The place went wild as they have been on a loosing streak. There was a massive fight and lots of action. A fantastic complex.
We caught the Meto home with the rest of LA and then a bus from Vermont - we feel very safe here.

Today we went on a tour, lots of sights including LA, Beverly HIlls, Vencie beach etc. We have some great photos but need to go to a different cafe. This one is only 7cents a minute but cannot down load photos- so stand by as they will come.

We are off to dinner now, it's been cool here 18-20 degrees and some rain last night.

Tomorrow we are off to Universal Studios we will blog again soon and will send some photos.

sounds like you guys have been having lots of fun! its great to hear that the public transport system is safe - not quite as most australians would imagine it! all i can say is make sure you leave lots of room in your bags because you've got the rest of the world to cover before you come home! glad to hear from you talk again soon xxx

Hi Trevenas, got your info - well done to settle in so quick - why are we not suprised! Great idea to see an ice hockey game! You missed horrible scorching weather in Adelaide (44 deg) and more to come. You might want to consider freighting back some larger items - by sea it is cheap but takes about 3 months. You need to fill a minimum size container for sea freight. Maybe something to think about. Keep safe and well, look forward to hearing about your next adventures!!!
