Today I went out with a couple others. I had two objectives...to see the Bull Temple and to buy some clothes for work next week. Unfortunatly I didn't get any clothes. I did buy a saree. I guess I'll wear it. It just seems too fancy to wear.
The Bull Temple is a Hindu temple with a giant statue of a bull carved out of one solid piece of black granite. Pretty cool. I'll upload some pictures as soon as I can.
We then went to Lalbagh(?) botanical gardens which are quite beautiful. It's a huge park that's like the center of a wheel. There are many roads leading up to the park. There was some rehearsal going on for a big festival so we watched some of that.
Then we went out for great Indian food and on to some shopping at those places that try to sell you silk carpets and pashmina shawls. I did end up with two shawls and the saree.
I still have yet to go to the market. I think I'll run to the Shell station and get some bottled water. I guess I could just boil a bunch of tap water and then refridgerate it.
I'm super dehydrated. However, even though there are a decent amount of public toilets there aren't many Westernized ones unless you're at a restaurant. So I couldn't drink gallons of water like I do back home.

What to do-wash or shop?
What sort of work clothes are you looking for? How has what you brought with you worked out? I predict you'll be shipping home oodles of Indian goods at the end of your adventure! ;-) P.S. Send pics of botanical gardens!
