coffee please!.coffee please!.coffee please!.

Lando Chocolate cafe for a much needed morning coffee. Geoff asked for a coffee but got an espresso, He’ll have to get an Americana. My iced coffee was good after adding 2 big sugara
Day 3: started.off a bit slower, I think we are all a bit tired from walking around in the 30 degree heat all day. We woke up a bit later and to be honest we were struggling to figure out what to go and see. We went to the local LX market and finally found the library that looked so much cooler in pictures. We were desperate for a good coffee and found a cute chocolate cafe, sat for a coffee (which means espresso to Portugese) and Anne had an iced coffee. We set out to go to the Torre de Belem, which was the one thing we didn't make it to in the first night. The neighborhood around the tower was super impressive with large white washed houses owned by foreign embassies. It was interesting to see the contrast from the old city. Saw the tower from the outside, didn't feel necessary to pay to go in and started walking..... Luckily we found scooters again and booted to the restaurants under the bridge to grab a drink. I think Anne might have been feeling it after her Sangria!

After some people watching, and wondering how people got invited onto the huge bougie party boat, we went to the Timeout Market. Really cool spot to get some good food. The kids had more Margareta pizza and Anne and I got cod cakes, grilled sea bass, squid and shrimp with a side of seafood tomato rice. So good, especially compared to the night before.

After our meal we found a spot that had Pastel de Natas that were safe for Cameron. So good! Cream custard pastries with icing sugar and cinnamon. We went back for more to take on the road. I want more as I write this. Thankfully, Anne and Camille are taking a pastry class in a few days and make us some at a local bakery!

Afterwards we went down to the water to sit and watch the boats and called it a day. Tomorrow we get our rental car early in the morning so we need to get organized for Sintra and beyond. Hopefully the castles will be reopened since they've been closed for a week due to forest fires in the area.

Kids had fun with deshelling shrimp and making finger puppets out of the heads. Camille might have offered to pay Cameron if he ate the fish eye. Ewe!

Video of the view outside our apartment. You can hear the restaurant music and see how close we are to the bridge where cars and trams run across all the time.

People watching on a terasse drinking sangria. Might have drank a little too much after being in the sun all day. Party happening on the big boat next to us!
