After a busy 2 days previous, we spent Sunday as a rest day! Having a lazy Sunday morning reading the paper, washing clothes and general chores etc, we headed out for a further lazy afternoon! We spent the early evening chatting to our parents on skype, which is the first time since we have left, so after making them miss us further we headed out for dinner.
We had made some lovely friends on our 2 day tour and so agreed to meet up for dinner tonight before people started moving off to their next destination on their own trips.
In Cairns (and we are told they are also all across Australia) they have public BBQ’s (like outdoor hot plates) overlooking the beach that you are able to use for free! Their council tax pays for their cleaning and maintenance every morning and they can be used from 06.30am to 10.00pm- in theory you could use them for breakfast, lunch and dinner! We took some fish, meat, veg and drinks etc down to the BBQ and had a great meal, over great conversation.
The guys are (left to right on the photograph) Jay (from Oz) and girlfriend Marta (from Barcelona), then Dan and Me (obviously!) and Owen from the USA - Hi Guys if you can see this!
