We travelled from our hotel in Ashford Washington to our next destination the Pacific Ocean. A beautiful clear blue sky and warmer weather greeted us this morning. The drive along the two lane road was wonderful with full glimpses of Mt. Rainier without a cloud in the sky. There was a scenic view ahead and we turned off. It was at a cute little church whose congregation made a gravel path out to a viewing area of Mt. Rainier with a bench to relax and take in the beauty. The church also made available the Daily Bread to all visitors. There was a man mowing the grass there and we stopped to talk with him. He is a long time member of the church and life long resident of the area. The church was a Mission Church and he had gone many times to Guatemala to help the people with finding fresh water and building. He had such a love for those people. He also shared stories about growing up in this area and how he met his wife. He was a scout master for years and talked about how creative he had to be since most of the boys grew

up in those mountains and had already done camping, backpacking, etc. They would send the boys out on survival missions for 3-4 days. I guess it was fun for the boys because they kept coming back. He was an interesting man and we really enjoyed talking with him. We drove on to the coast and got to Pacific Beach. There was an RV in front of us with Texas plates and bikes on the back. I told Kevin that I thought it was Gale and Phil. They are one of the couples we are meeting in Olympic National Park and then starting the bike ride with on 5/16. The RV moved over to let us by but we stopped next to them and they rolled the window down and it was them! They are staying in a RV park down in Ocean City, WA and we are starting about 10 miles north at Pacific Beach. Tomorrow we will all meet (My cousin Margaret, Barry, Phil, Gale, Kevin and I) at the Lake Quinault Lodge and start our adventure together.

What a beautiful place to worship the Creator! Their sign said Worship the Creator not the creation. Very True.
