Im now in Trat, which is a southern town that doesn't have tomanny tourists...
The night market here is a great place to sample some Thai food... Most people
come here to head over to Cambodia... And thats why I was there.. so now for a
story... I stayed at a guesthouse called POPs... It was a nice place and the
Bungalow was only 400b... Now someone on told me that I should book my way
through Cambodia atthe guest house... The story was trhat I pay 650b for a 5hr
ferry ride and the taxi from the border to the ferry... The ferry leaves at 8am
.... Now for all travelers BEWARE.... If you book thisThe Min bus will not
leave until they have 10 people.... The guest house told us to be ready at 5am
and they toook us to the bus depot... then we find out what the real story
is...So we decided to pay 200b to get to the border so that we could get the
only ferry that leaves that day... Or we would of had to stay in a small town
in the border.... The other people that stayed at the bus station Missed the
ferry... their choice... So afteran hour we arrived at the border and faced the
Cambodian Immigration... Now what you here about them over charginging at the
border is true... The cost was suppose to be $20us or 1000b but they didn't
want the US money and they charged 1300b... They say that you should stand your
ground and not be rude and sooner or later they would give in ....
unfortunately we had to catch a ferry and time was not on our side... the end
result was to pay and move on and we caught the ferry....

The ride was in
the hot sun on top of a long flat boat and I feel the burn on my ankles right
now... Theres about 6 of us 4 girls and one other guy... When we got off th e
ferry we were greeted by all the touts in Cambodia I think... It was a mess...
they just kept bothering us... even when we found a van that we could all fit
in they still followed us to find accommodations we asked them to leave us a
lone but they where persistent to grab a commission on all of us... we finally
got out of the van and hung out at a restaurant while me and another looked for
a place to stay... And we did... Its a mattress on a floor in a beach side bar
owned by Mom... we are all calling her Mom.... this is going to cost $2US per
night....lol.... Also Mom knows its my B-day and is having a party for me ....
she got some people to hand out flyers for the great event her at the bar....
Im not to sure how I feel about it but the people in my group are going to have
a good time Im sure...
This was just a quickie to keep you all up-todate...
Talk to youall soon
