Hi all,
in Paris having a ball. Seeing heaps every day, yesterday was Notre Dame and the Louvre - just huge! The Mona Lisa was bigger than I thought as everyone goes on about how small it is, still heaps of people even though not technically tourist season :-) We have been getting to know the streets of Paris very well as we have been walking everywhere. The other day we walked from our hotel (Rue des ecoles, just near the Sorbonne) to the Pantheon then the Eiffel Tower, up the 700 stairs and down again (where I got a little nervous in the lift!), over to the Arc de Triomphe, down the Champs Elysees and back home again. Very sore legs after that day!!
The views from the Eiffel Tower were just amazing, and looking down the Champs Elysees from the top of the Arc de Triomphe was spectacular - such traffic. Nick was keen for us to try to run across the road to the Arc de Triomphe, or anywhere really, but i'm not so sure, the traffic is just manic and the parking is out of this world. They seem to manage to park in spaces
Hotel des Invalides
Napoleon built this to house the invalids after the war!! we would never consider, like on corners or squashing into the tiniest spaces with literally no space between cars!
Otherwise just enjoying the cafes and people watching. Nick is fascinated by all the cop cars everywhere, there are so many and they all have their sirens on, and are all full of people! We suspect they just don't want to wait in the traffic like everyone else...!
write more soon xx

Thanks for the pics - they're particularly awesome for those of us who haven't ever been off the mainland! (Bribie Island still doesn't count right?!)
