Beleive it or not is was snowing here today! What a cold front! Wednesday November 22nd 2006
www.WeBeSailing.com Charleston, South Carolina, @ the City Marina,
This was not planned as one would say, boat plans are made in Jell-O, always moving! My replacement crew is to arrive here tomorrow late afternoon flying in from Montreal. The crew consists of Christine Thuraine, Christine just completed an circumnavigation of 55000 nautical miles from 1996-2005 on her own sailing vessel called Blue Alligator a Caliber 40 monohaul, she is also a trained skipper from the Glenans of France and has also done some transatlantic racing. Second we have Benoit Milette the owner of s/v Anticipation a Beneteau 411 on Lake Champlain, he has been a sailor on Lake Champlain for numerous years and as done some sailing in the Caribbean and St Laurence. We look forward to giving him some more offshore experience, and finally my sweetheart Annie who will be rejoining me and who has been sailing a whole bunch in the past five years. I am very fortunate to have this great crew to help me with the mission to do this voyage and especially Annie as my partner in life.
The past crew consisting of Marcel, Caroline & Miro departed for

Everyone cocooned in there boats to stay warm. Montreal yesterday as they where all strapped for time with all the weather delays we have been experiencing. They where all disapointed to not have been able to finish this voyage, better weather next time.
The weather here has been as the locals would say, Really Weird! It even snowed here for a short period!! With the north wind building throughout the day to obtain the 50 knot range, imagine in the Gulf Stream. The forecast is for the winds to decrease later tonight and to remain north for the next little while. At the moment we have a great weather window the go offshore this Thursday but will be a bit delayed by this crew change so we will go offshore on Friday early morning.
I wish to share with you something that is very dear to me. This takes place during our last crossing in May 2006 from Antigua to New York via Bermuda. Old sailors might say that it’s bad luck to have a sparrow visit you during a passage, but this sparrow was not bad luck at all. This little sparrow was totally exhausted and sought this great place to take some needed rest.

Everyone cocooned in there boats to stay warm. We all where able to handle the little sparrow and we did our best to feed and nourish it. This little sparrow took to Annie as he/she perched upon her shoulder as she sang to comfort it. Click on the video here above and enjoy this special moment.
When we go offshore in the next couple of days we will not be able to easily update our Blog, but will do so as soon as we arrive in the Islands. But we will keep our web site
www.WeBeSailing.com updated via our HF radio with daily position reports during our crossing.
Keep your positive comments coming; we are truly motivated by your comments.
Cheers,
Eric
