Christmas decorations on Regent Street.
It is quite amazing to see the number of people reading my blog, so far I have over 4500 views. Wow! I hope you enjoy reading it...

After a quick visit in Brussels I was off for a quick visit to London.
I have lived three and a half years in London, I did most of my university studies there, so I'm certainly not unfamiliar with the city.
I mostly stopped there to do some more christmas shopping and to get the most out of my round the world ticket.
They have already started to prepare for christmas, lots of nice christmas decorations in central London along Oxford Street and Regent Street, actually much better than most of the previous years. I was impressed!

I once again stayed one night in a Radisson hotel, this time the Radisson SAS Portman Hotel, five minutes from Marble Arch.
I was quite surprised to find a Swedish girl at the reception, so I was actually checked in in Swedish, in London!
I presented my SAS gold card again and asked nicely if it was possible to get a better room, and she told me I had already been upgraded to a business

Fantastic view of central London during the approach to Heathrow. You can see the London Bridge station to the right, and the financial district on the other side. And of course all the famous bridges, Tower Bridge to the very right!
class room. Excellent!!
The room was actually very nice as you can see on the pics, I just love the interior! I had a nice balcony as well.
Otherwise the hotel was very expensive, as are most hotels in London, it cost 10 pounds just to visit the fitness centre, that's a bit over the top!
Anyway I enjoyed my stay, and the hotel was only a short cab ride from Paddington station where the Heathrow Express train arrives/departs, perfect for me with my bloody heavy suitcases.

London was also the last stop on this trip, so now I'm off to go home. It's a bit sad the trip is over, but I am so exhausted and wouldn't manage another week of travelling, I will probably be sleeping for the next month back home, at least... 😉

More fantastic views of central London minutes before landing at Heathrow. Waterloo Station to the right, London Eye (the ferris wheel) to the left of it, and Big Ben on the opposite side of the river.

Final photo from the air before touchdown at Heathrow. Buckingham Palace in the centre of the photo, London Eye is very easy to recognise now.

At the Radisson SAS Portman Hotel, close to Marble Arch, I was upgraded to a nice business class room. I like the interior!
