Cheap Ryan Air tickets and Dave's birthday was a good enough excuse for us to head to Dublin for the weekend and get away from Bloody London. it was a long time coming, believe me.

So this time I managed to get us to the correct airport with a hitch. Yay for Kerrie!!!! We got into Dublin in the night and walked around a bit before we managed to find our hotel. It was smack bang in the middle of Dublin City, which isnt very big, and right next to Temple Bar. An area that is just streets lined with pubs.

We spent our first night in as it was midnight by the time we got to the hotel. The next day we did the usual sights, Trinity College, St Patricks Cathedral and the good ol' Guiness Factory. It was actually quite good!! We had heard that it was a bit lame but we enjoyed it, and the pint of Guiness you get at the end while you overlook Dublin from above. It was all a very nice day but we were knackered by 4pm because we had walked around so much. We are a little out of shape seeing as the public transport in London is so good. So we went and rested for a couple of hours then headed out. Its was Daves birthday that night so we went out to dinner then sat in a pub and drank for a while, how typical!!

The next day we did the touristy thing and took a tour to the Wicklow Mountains. They are out of Dublin so it was a good chance for us to see another part of Ireland, even if it is just out of the city!!! So with a bus load of tourists and a funny Irish tour guide we were off to experience some of the coldest, windiest winds we have ever experienced. As you can see by the pics, the wind was holding us up when we leant over and it actually made me lose my footing and lifted me at one point. It was gorgeous in the mountains though, despite the cold weather.
That night we headed to Temple Bar and managed to go through a couple of the hundreds pubs that are in the area.

Sunday we caught up with Marty's mate Troy who lives in dublin with his Irish girlfriend. They took us to a quiet Irish pub and we sat and drank with the locals. Then it was time to head of back to London. It was a rather scary drive to the airport but managed to get their safely. So then it was back to shitty London for us!!!! Until the next trip, back to Amsterdam!!!
