Denali

We are now at Denali. Before we stayed in a new RV Park in Wasilla. It was really nice, but we neither saw Sarah Palin or any of Russia. Mom said there was no way you can see Russia from here! This was just a rest stop because of the miles driving. I’m getting into this travel bit....not so stressful.

It was raining in Denali when we arrived. But the RV Park was north a ways and no rain. Sunday the gals left for an 8 hour park tour but Mom made arrangements for a pet walker for me. She let them know I am a shy boy...and they had to send out Kevin, the dog whisperer. By the 2nd visit, I was showing him my tummy. These things are new to me.

Mom got some pictures to share. Guess the wildlife was amazing and the weather perfect with Denali Mt seen. They saw Caribou, 2 sets of grizzlies with twin cubs! A red fox carrying his dinner, Rear end of a moose, snow shoe bunnies and Dalia sheep. They had to close part of the road the Thursday before because of 5 inches

of rain. Usually they get 16 inches a year total. The road had been worked on, so they got to go to Stoney Point which is 30miles from Denali. Another rain storm is coming in tonight, and they might have to close the road again. There is worry that the Polychrome Pass Road May be indefinitely closed in the very near future. There are several private hotels at the end of the road so that will be problematic!

Oh, the fishing...Mom sent home 22lb of the 67 lb catch. Yumm.

Travel day tomorrow to Fairbanks, then heading back home!

All the photos are great. We are excited about taking that trip ourselves with the trailer. The Denali pic is unusually clear as it is commonly shrouded in clouds.

That’s right, few people get these shots. At 20310 feet, it mostly sits in the clouds.
