This past weekend we had our welcome party, presented by CAPA. It was a fun barbeque down by the water the views were amazing. Then Saturday we went on our full day trip to the Blue Mountains. On the way there we stopped at the Olympic park, which was very nice and big, but deserted. Beau (Capa advisor) said that the Olympic park is rarely used now and it is a good 40 minutes from the center of the city. Our next stop was at a wildlife preserve. That was awesome, we got to pet kangaroos, emus, wallabees and a baby koala. THey were like roaming free and you could go up and feed them. After lunch, we reached the Blue Mountians and got to see the 3 sisters ( a rock) this is a sacred site in the Aboriginal culture. Then, we walked to the bottom of the mountain, like a million stairs, I thought I would die. But when we got to the bottom we rode the worldest steepest railroad (but it looked like a rollarcoaster b/c it was at a 52* incline)! So anyways all that excitment wore me out and I spent Sunday lying low, I was kinda sick. Finally, we have been getting ready for our trip to Cairns and we even found a Kmart here. We leave tomorrow! That is what everyone has been looking forward too... I think we are all getting on each others nerves a bit! Love ya!
