Well, after a restless night on a perfectly stable ship (I liked the rocking ok?) we went to brekky to find it was a wet and windy day here in Reykjavik.
After brekky Tom went ashore to find a post office and I went upstairs to take some pics. It was cold as well as wet and windy so I came back inside to the panorama lounge to have a warming coffee and read some more of my Marian Keyes book. I noticed another lady getting an interesting looking drink in a smaller sized champagne glass - it was a Baileys!! I thought yes, it’s after 10 (just) i’ll have one too!
When Tom returned all cold and damp from his outing ashore, a Baileys warmed him up nicely too while we were reading.
We had lunch at La Terrazza, watching the cranes working on the building across from our old Harbour berth (we’re right in town, it’s a small ship, one of the Americans jokingly referred to it as a tender)). Roast turkey was the roast of the day. Yum.
After lunch we returned to our suite to find our suitcases set up on our luggage racks, ready to pack, which we did.
Tom was somewhat disturbed to find that out on our side of the ship we had a diver under water checking out the underside of the ship - he spent over an hour under water.
After packing we went to the final afternoon tea (well goodness, it must have been over two hours since we’d last eaten!! Back to fasting tomorrow!). Tom mentioned the divers to Colin the cruise director and he said it was their practice to have the hull inspected every 7 weeks, and with dry dock coming up in November it would be extra checking so they can plan the work.
After tea it was time for trivia. We came second, out of five!! Noprada was saying that 200 new passengers would be getting on board tomorrow!
After trivia it was time to trade in our ships points for prizes - we weren’t fussed with the prizes so we got a certificate to add to next cruises points. After that it was time to retrieve our passports and then retire to our room to prepare for dinner, which was ordinary fare - seafood stew for entree and schnitzel for mains, sorbet for dessert then a whisky in our suite while we finished packing!

Icelandic style
I am thinking that the next time we meet for coffee we should do it “Icelandic” style and have Baileys at 10am ?
