After waking up at a modest hour (after the night before!) we headed down to pick up our hire car for the next few days... not much to shout about, it was an automatic, gold Proton Wira with no acceleration, such a monster to drive. Bearing in mind Dan can barely fit in it Clare has become the designated driver for the tour.

Dodging the suicide motor bikes around George Town we headed over one of the longest bridges in the world to the mainland and in to Malaysia itself- expertly navigated by Dan - not getting lost once.

After a 4 hour drive consisting of both modern motorways followed by very tight mountainous roads littered again with suicide bikers and coaches we arrived in the Cameron Highlands!

Our accomodation in the CH is The Lakehouse, a beautiful mock Tudor hotel in the middle of the Cameron Highlands, what can only be described as almost jungle. It was completely surreal/ amazing/ beautiful all at once. Granted - had the hotel been situated in the UK it would be considered kitch, unfashionable and in bad taste, but due to the novelty factor being so many thousands of miles away from home - it felt like home.

We missed lunch by the time we arrived, so had afternoon tea (scones and cream included!) on the veranda then had a nap before dinner- I can hear you sniggering already... it was roast lamb and Yorkshire puddings on the menu!!! We opted for something different, but were very tempted.

Then off to bed after a very exciting and tiring day all in all.
