Monday: Gary and Marji headed home today. Gary, with great sadness, had his last creamy custard tart at the airport. Yum!

Glen, Karen, Mike, and I decided to have a farewell-Lisbon lunch downtown then wander about looking for any last minute purchases. Tonight, we would pack and eat the remaining groceries/wine as a light dinner.

Cool thing: For the first time since we have been in Lisbon, there was an outdoor market in one of the downtown plazas. The food smelled incredible. Mike and I had just had lunch so no way were we going to eat again but, not gonna lie, we were tempted. After a last look around, the Uber came to take us back to the apartment.

Tuesday: Up early to tidy up and finish any last minute packing. Out by 8:30am for a 12:15p flight. Lisbon airport isn’t large but somehow, with the vaguest of instructions, we walked for miles to get to where we needed to be. At every turn, there was another passport check. Oh, and Karen and I got to be bomb tested...guess we look shifty. Finally on the plane, we discovered that their internet was out so no inflight entertainment. Whaaat?! I have to amuse myself for 8 stinking hours?

It was great to land in Philly! We quickly got through customs via Global Entry. After hugging and kissing Glen and Karen goodbye, we split to our gates. Six hours later...San Francisco! Yay!

What an amazing time was had by all. And with that, dear reader, I bid you adieu. Thanks for keeping up with our shenanigan and thanks for all of your comments.
