****ITS CLARE'S BIRTHDAY****

First of all, let me say a huge thank you for all the birthday messages, its been lovely to hear from you all, I have to say I was feeling a little home sick not having you all around, but you have certainly all made up for it- love you all loads xxx

This morning started out with an early morning Tai Chi class in a public square, which was fantastic. This was one of our freebees, and was certainly worth more then 0GBP! Very unlike Karate, much slower, but breathing and posture are both very important like Karate. Interestingly they do not appear to break down each movement the way we do, they just learn the 'pattern' (our version of Kata) in one session and then continuely practice it until they become 'Kunfu'- masters. (sorry to bore those of you who dont practice). It certianly left Dan and I with lots of questions and as its free on Wednesday too, we may go back for some more!

Following this, we headed off to a Tailor to be measured up for some made to measure suits, this is only the first stage, we have to go back tomorrow for final measurements, but todays adventure of choosing the fabric, lining, shapes etc, was great fun- I've never done this before, your certainly made a fuss over!
Anyway, the update on this will follow tomorrow...

Just thought I would take a moment to just mention a couple of things we have noticed about Hong Kong in general:

* Its fantasticaly clean, you would feel so guilty if you dropped anything on the street, everyone really takes pride in their city.

* Its also very safe, there hasnt been one time I have felt the need to stick close to Dan, women can really go out at all hours and feel safe to do so.

* People wear face masks when they have a cold... this was a strange site at first, but we have since learnt that it is just out of politeness to others that they do not pass on their germs.

* The pedestrain crossings that have a 'green man' to go and 'red man' to stop (same as UK) have this very strange bleeping sound- not just when they are green, but continiously (it just speeds up when its time to walk!)... this must get sooooo irritating for people who live near by.

Anyway, must shoot -apologies for any spelling errors my portable spell check (called Dan) is having a nap before we go out for dinner!
