Oh My Aching Feet! Today has been a long day of walking. I hope I get this post finished before I fall asleep. It’s almost 9:30pm here and we’ve been up since 5:30am. We had a local expert/guide take us around Warsaw this morning – the new Jewish museum, the historic buildings everywhere, the park dedicated to Chopin, etc. We ended-up at the old towne square and walked through the area before we explored the area again on our own for two more hours. From there we were taken to Wilanow Palace. We toured the outside gardens and lake by the palace (gorgeous) and the inside of the palace – queen’s room, king’s room, etc.. – it was gold and gaudy and magnificent. The weather was perfect today and it was beautiful and windy outside but by four o'clock all of our feet ached so much we were ready to return to the hotel. We left hotel at 9am this morning and returned at almost exactly 5pm. We were walking or standing 99% of that entire time. I bet my steps were 100,000 today! (ha)
I have a thousand stories from today. I took pictures and will tell
some of the stories with the pictures. I’m super sleepy so I’m not going to get a lot in tonight as we have another very early and long day tomorrow – we are traveling to Auschwitz Concentration Camp.
We said goodbye to several group members this afternoon as they did not sign-up to continue on to Krakow, Poland and to see Auschwitz Concentration Camp, Krakow, etc. We will go from 43 people to 33 people tomorrow. My second husband and Pardo are leaving, sadly. The Golden Girls are leaving too. Several of our good buddies are staying-on as their main reason for taking this trip is to see Auschwitz. Many of them are Jewish. Have you seen Schindler’s List? Everyone should see it. Have you seen the movie The Zookeeper’s wife (she hid Jewish children in the “zoo” and helped them escape from the Nazis)… we visited the house and former zoo area this morning.
I have really enjoyed Warsaw. I’m not sure which I like better – Vilnius, Lithuania or Warsaw, Poland. Either way, this trip seems to be getting better every day. The people we are traveling with are interesting.... sooooo many
stories to share! I’m going to post pictures and put my head on a pillow….

So. Many. Thoughts.
I have so many reactions to this leg of your tour! 1. Kamie should be a model, obviously. His pose in front of the fall color is not the work of an amateur. He practices. 2. That little kid playing the accordion for coins was probably just asking for another coin because he wanted to buy a cool scarf for his mother at the Bass outlet in Branson. 3. I'm pretty sure you ought to make the next room in your house gold, gaudy, and fabulous.
