Bob Kribs
I worked over 40 years with the dream that some day I would have the chance to enjoy the freedom of retirement at a relatively early age. I was fortunate enough to achieve it in 2005. God Bless America!

Many of the states I've visited and three countries (Korea, Fiji and Mexico) I was fortunate enough to visit on business related trips (mostly for entertainment!).

I'm going to start these blogs with my trip of a lifetime, my road trip to Alaska and back.

Thanks for the nomination and award. This photo was taken during our flight around Denali National Park, circling Mt. McKinley and included a landing on Ruth Glacier. It's one of the most exciting things I've ever done. We were quite fortunate to be flying in a powerful turboprop airplane that could get us above the cloud layer to get this view. Many people are disappointed that they don't get a good view of Mt. McKinley when they visit Alaska becuse of the almost ever present cloud layer near the mountain.

The air service that we used was Talkeetna Air Taxi out of the quaint town of Talkeetna, about 60 miles due south of the mountain. They fly many of the climbers up to base camps, too. Reply to this

Bob,
It is a small world. We used the same flight service on our flight around Denali. They were fantastic.

We have not blogged about that trip because it was prior to us joining this wonderful world of TravelBlog. I hope to go back and blog about it next year. My photos are not as good as yours but it was an amazing adventure.

Happy travels, keep writing those wonderful blogs! Reply to this

Hello Jo,

I could not agree more. I won't have time until we return from this upcoming trip....but I promise to write it. Alaska was fantastic....all too short but fantastic. We need to return.
